Soccer Rules
Soccer is offered during the spring semester in a double elimination tournament with divisions for Men, Co-Rec. and Women. If anyone is injured, immediately notify the officials and supervisor.
RULES AND POINTS OF EMPHASIS:
- NIRSA Rules will be followed explicitly unless noted below.
- The game shall be played between two (2) teams of seven (7) players. Each team must have 6 players on the field in order to begin play.
- All games will consist of two (2) 20-minute halves with no time outs. The clock runs continuously except for injuries. Time between halves is five (5) minutes.
- GAME TIME IS FORFEIT TIME
- The use of dangerous equipment is prohibited. Shoes must be worn- basketball, tennis, as well as soccer cleans.FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL CLEATS MAY NOT BE WORN. The official will inspect cleats before game time. All exposed metal knee braces must be covered.
- Abusive or insulting language, acts of unfair play, and managers,coaches or substitutes on the field of play will result in suspension.
- Yellow Cards will = 5 minutes of penalty time for the offending player and an allowed substitution during a normal period of substitution.
- Red Card= player is ejected from the game. No substitution is allowed; team must play numbers down. The ejected player should see the Director of Recreation, as soon as possible they shall not play again until they meet with the director.
